A local Co-op sent an email to a school to say the students are the 'nicest and most respectful people' to have in store - and the students responded by writing these heartwarming letters back.

Pupils from Manchester Islamic High School for Girls regularly visit the Co-op store on nearby Beech Road in Chorlton , before and after school.

The store manager, Stephanie Shoreman, was impressed with how the girls behaved each time they came in so she sent an email to the school.

The email read: "I am the store manager of the Co-op Beech Road. We are only a couple of minutes away from your store.

"I wanted to drop you a quick email regarding the young ladies that attend your school.

"Every morning and afternoon I have a lot of your students shop in our store.

Student wrote letters to thank the Co-op staff members for their kind words

"These students are the nicest, most respectful people I genuinely have the pleasure to serve and speak to.

"They are a credit to your school, parents and mostly themselves.

"They are a pleasure to have in store. They couldn't represent themselves or the school any better.

"I am sure you are already aware of this but I just wanted to say how pleased I am that your students shop in our store."

In a post on the independent prep school's Facebook page, a spokesperson said the email was 'beautiful' and thanked the shop for their kind words.

The students were praised for being a credit to 'themselves, the school and their parents'.

But the acts of kindness didn't stop there, with the girls then writing out letters of thanks to the store.

Jamila Kossar, SMSC co-ordinator at MIHSG , said the school try 'to enrich the students with more than exceptional grades, but to embed the act of kindness which can be taught to all and practiced by many'.

One of the letters from a Year 10 student read: "Thank you for taking the time out to write an email to the school as it means a lot.

"It really is refreshing to see someone spreading love instead of hate."

In another letter, a student said: "We would like to thank you for your kind words. We appreciate you very much.

"In this world of hatred you made us felt loved and put a smile on our faces."
